Jack Backen

Jack Backen is an experienced property economist with qualifications in economics, law and finance. He joined Urbis in 2005 and has since worked extensively across Asia. Jack is a founding director of Urbis’ Singapore entity, Cistri. Jack’s core expertise is in retail property, complemented by experience across office, residential and hospitality sectors. He has led and contributed to projects throughout Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan, New Zealand and Qatar. His work spans economic research and advisory services including demographic analysis, property market forecasting, market demand assessments, financial feasibility, highest and best use studies, and strategic master planning. Jack is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, and sits on it’s Singapore ExCo.
