Cistri, as part of a consortium led by Henning Larsen, has been successful in winning an international Request for Proposal to put forward a vision for the North-South Corridor Surface Streets to the Land Transport Authority of Singapore.

Our team will lead the urban design guidelines and placemaking strategy for the corridor – Working alongside Henning Larsen and the broader consortium of consultants, to deliver the Master Plan Consultancy.

Cistri, as part of the consortium, participated in a two-stage selection process that saw 26 consortia from around the world submit their proposals to the Land Transport Authority (LTA). A shortlist of 3 consortia then went head-to-head to win the contract and deliver the master plan consultancy.

The North-South Corridor is a city shaping project that will positively transform the urban landscape of Singapore for generations to come.

“Being shortlisted was an honour in itself, but to be successful with our proposal is very exciting. The North-South Corridor is a city shaping project that will positively transform the urban landscape of Singapore for generations to come.” said Director and Cistri Project Lead, Rahul Mittal.

The 21.5 km long North-South Corridor (NSC) will see the surface streets become inviting pathways to encourage active mobility and include versatile public spaces for the community to gather, socialise, and rest. This project will be transformational for both residents and visitors alike – enhancing connectivity in the central part of Singapore and creating a thriving multi-use corridor.

Cistri’s artistic vision of the North-South Corridor Viaduct

On-road vehicular traffic will be redirected to the underground tunnel and viaduct, releasing up to 30 football fields’ worth of space for active modes of transport, public space, and lush greenery. Our people-centric vision will enable the community to enjoy healthier, more active journeys.

“We are looking forward to working with Henning Larsen and what is an impressive team of consultants to deliver an outcome that will increase liveability and create a vibrant, green and accessible corridor for all to enjoy.” – Rahul Mittal, Director.

We congratulate our project team which brings together some of the brightest minds from Cistri. This will be a truly evolutionary project for Singapore and we look forward to sharing more along the way as we reach project milestones.
