At the centre of the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) precinct, The Exchange TRX has emerged as one of the key retail and lifestyle destinations in Kuala Lumpur. Spanning more than 1.3 million square feet, the mall brings together a wide range of retail, dining and entertainment experiences, forming a vibrant urban hub at the heart of Malaysia’s new international business and financial district.

Cistri has provided ongoing advisory services for The Exchange TRX throughout its development journey. As part of the wider 70-acre TRX precinct, the project presented an opportunity to help shape a destination capable of serving both the local market and Kuala Lumpur’s growing global profile.

Our role focused on supporting key development and commercial decisions across multiple stages of the project.

Drawing on our deep understanding of the Kuala Lumpur retail market, Cistri advised on the appropriate scale and phasing of the development, alongside tenant mix, market positioning and layout strategy. We also delivered financial assessments examining sales performance, rental potential and broader commercial viability.

Working closely with Lendlease over several years, our team helped refine the development and leasing strategy to support long-term performance and customer appeal.

Through ongoing strategic advice, we have helped position The Exchange TRX as a focal point for retail, dining and entertainment in central Kuala Lumpur.
