Planning a future-ready airport city
KLIA Aeropolis is a major airport city masterplan surrounding Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), positioned within one of the region’s most significant economic growth corridors. Spanning 100 square kilometres, the development aims to strengthen KLIA’s role as an international aviation hub while creating a connected and future-focused economic precinct.
An integrated strategy
KLIA Aeropolis engaged Cistri to help define the appropriate land use mix, development phasing and physical layout for the overall masterplan and the Aeropolis Central district.
Drawing on our integrated expertise across design, property market analysis and economics, we advised on a development strategy that would support KLIA’s core airport operations while enabling broader commercial, industrial, leisure, and accommodation opportunities. Our approach was informed by extensive market research and financial feasibility assessments across multiple sectors.
Turning strategy into implementation
Through an evidence-based planning approach, we provided recommendations on development catalysts, strategic phasing and the clustering of complementary land uses to support long-term growth and investment outcomes.
We also undertook detailed reviews of priority development zones to help inform an actionable implementation plan. The project demonstrates the value of integrated master planning in shaping large-scale economic precincts that balance operational performance with urban development outcomes.
Our multi-disciplinary team evidence-based solutions to support long-term urban growth at KLIA Aeropolis.
